Webconferencing Training Project:
Funded by the California Consumer Protection Foundation, this project is providing webinar trainings designed to:
- build the capacity of parent organizations to provide information, education, and support to families of children with special health care needs
- help generic family resource centers and community based organizations increase their capacity to provide appropriate referrals for families of children with special needs and
- provide job readiness and professional development opportunities to families of children with special health care needs, including transitioning youth.

Funded by the California Consumer Protection Foundation, this project provided a series of
families of children with special health care needs – especially those in rural and frontier
communities – to accurate and timely information, education and support services.
Partners in Policymaking California
The Partners in Policymaking California Collaborative comprised of the Family Resource Centers Network of California, the Arc of California, the California Association of Family Empowerment Centers, Family Voices of California, and People First California, was awarded a grant from the State Council on Developmental Disabilities to replicate the internationally known leadership-training model, Partners in Policymaking. Partners is an innovative, competency based leadership training program for adults with disabilities and parents of young children with developmental disabilities focused on “teaching best practices in disability, and the competencies of influencing public officials.” Additional information may be found on Partners in Policymaking website.
Autistic Spectrum Disorders Resource Project
The Autistic Spectrum Disorders Resource Project, funded by the Department of Developmental Services, web pages on autistic spectrum disorders.
As a further resource, the Project also funded the Autistic Spectrum Disorders Resource Kit, a set of over thirty books and DVDs. The resource kits are available at each Early Start Family Resource Center throughout California (see Directory to locate the Early Start Family Resource Center in your area).
